1:30 PM TODAY: GOV. RITTER TO SIGN TRANSPARENCY IN GOV'T EXECUTIVE ORDER


 

10:30 a.m.                   Gov. Ritter will congratulate the Geostorm Lego Robotics Team from Fort Collins. This group of seventh-graders from Liberty Common School recently won a statewide Science, Technology, Engineering and Math education competition that utilizes Lego blocks. The team will be competing in the worldwide finals later this month in Atlanta. Gov. Ritter will proclaim April as "Geostorm Lego Robotics Team Month" during today's photo-op. 11 a.m.                        Gov. Ritter will deliver remarks during the Colorado Mortgage Lenders Association monthly meeting. Location: Denver Athletic Club, Centennial Room, 1325 Glenarm Place.

 

12:20 p.m.                  Gov. Ritter will deliver remarks during the 9News Leadership of the Year Luncheon, which is hosted in partnership with the Colorado Leadership Alliance and the Denver Metro Chamber Leadership Foundation. Location: Hyatt Regency Convention Center Hotel, Centennial Room, 650 15th St., Denver.

 

1:30 p.m.                    Gov. Ritter will sign an executive order establishing the Transparency Online Project, which will give citizens unprecedented access to state government financial records over the Internet. Joining Gov. Ritter and signing cooperating memoranda of understanding will be Attorney General John Suthers, State Treasurer Cary Kennedy, Secretary of State Bernie Buescher and House Speaker Terrance Carroll. State Rep. Don Marostica will also be delivering remarks at the signing ceremony. Location: West Foyer, State Capitol.

 

2:40 p.m.                    Gov. Ritter will  sign House Bill 1008 into law. This is the first bill introduced by freshman state Rep. Joe Miklosi to become law. The measure, co-sponsored by Sen. Suzanne Williams, expands the type of paid leave that state employees may bank and share. Location: Governor's Office.
