GOV. RITTER WELCOMES HEXCEL TO COLORADO'S NEW ENERGY ECONOMY

Gov. Bill Ritter today welcomed Hexcel Corp. to Colorado's New Energy Economy following news that the Connecticut-based manufacturer intends to open a plant in Windsor next year.

Hexcel, a producer of carbon fiber and other advanced composite materials, is a supplier to Vestas Wind Systems and will build its new facility near Vestas' blade-manufacturing plant in Windsor.

"I'm pleased to welcome Hexcel Corp. to Windsor, to Colorado and to our New Energy Economy," Gov. Ritter said. "With Vestas increasing its presence in Colorado, it's encouraging to see suppliers deciding to create jobs and make additional investments here as well. Hexcel's decision to open a new facility here further demonstrates Colorado's national and international leadership in creating a new energy future for America."

Construction on the new facility is expected to begin this month.
