Gov. Bill Ritter today welcomed Hexcel Corp. to Colorado 's New Energy Economy following news that the Connecticut-based manufacturer intends to open a plant in Windsor next year.
Hexcel, a producer of carbon fiber and other advanced composite materials, is a supplier to Vestas Wind Systems and will build its new facility near Vestas' blade-manufacturing plant in Windsor .
"I'm pleased to welcome Hexcel Corp. to Windsor , to Colorado and to our New Energy Economy," Gov. Ritter said. "With Vestas increasing its presence in Colorado , it's encouraging to see suppliers deciding to create jobs and make additional investments here as well. Hexcel's decision to open a new facility here further demonstrates Colorado 's national and international leadership in creating a new energy future for America ."
Construction on the new facility is expected to begin this month.
