4 p.m. Gov. Ritter will take part in a ceremony upgrading the British Consulate inDenverto a full Consulate-General. While there has been a British consul presence inColoradosince 1885, the upgrade will expand the policy, management and geographic responsibilities of the office.New MexicoandWyomingwill now come under the Colorado Consulate-General's responsibility. The upgraded office also will be responsible for political and economic reporting, relationship management with key government offices, federal R&D laboratories, and all aspects of climate change and renewable energy work.
