BUSINESS AND ECONOMIC FORUM SET FOR PUEBLO ON THURSDAY

Governor Bill Ritter recession survival workshops begin.
 
A statewide series of "Surviving Tough Times" business workshops will kick off in Pueblo on Thursday, providing small businesses with direct access to government and private-sector financial resources and information.
 
The "Surviving Tough Times: Counseling, Tools and Resources for Small Businesses" forums are being co-hosted by Gov. Bill Ritter, the Small Business Administration and numerous other organizations.
 
Thursday's forum is from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m., Pueblo Community College, Fortino Ballroom, 900 W. Orman Ave., Pueblo.
 
A second forum will be from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m., Dec. 16, Auraria Campus, Tivoli Turnhalle, 900 Auraria Pkwy., Denver.
 
Additional forums will be held in Grand Junction, Durango, Colorado Springs and Fort Collins/Greeley area. Exact dates and locations will be announced as they become available.
 
The forums will operate like an open house, with doors open for six hours. On-site registration will be offered, but advanced registration is encouraged by visiting www.scoredenver.org or e-mailing kyle.miller@state.co.us to request a registration form.
 
The forums will give small businesses direct, one-on-one access to federal, state and local governments, local financial institutions, and other business assistance organizations. These groups will be providing Small Business Toolkits, counseling and other information about available resources to guide business owners through the downturn.
