GOV. RITTER TO VISIT PARK, CHAFFEE AND FREMONT COUNTIES ON FRIDAY AND SATURDAY

                                                                              Gov. Bill Ritter will be discussing health care, education and economic development during visits to Chaffee, Park and Fremont counties Friday and Saturday.
 
Friday, April 11
 
9 to 10 a.m.:              Gov. Ritter will be meeting with Park County commissioners and other local officials. Location: Beary Beary Tasty Bakery, 600 Main St., Fairplay.
 
11 a.m. to Noon:        Gov. Ritter will host a roundtable discussion focusing on efforts to help youthful criminal offenders learn job skills and improve their education. Location: Buena Vista Correctional Complex, 15125 Highways 24 & 285, Buena Vista.

 

1:45 to 3:45 p.m.:       Gov. Ritter will tour several riverfront and downtown Salida establishments, focusing on tourism and economic-development issues. Tour stops will include the SteamPlant Theater and Events Center and the new Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center. The tour begins at the Butchers' Table Restaurant, 122 North F St., Salida.

 

4:15 to 5:45 p.m.:       Gov. Ritter will host a roundtable with community members regarding education reform, including the Governor's Colorado Achievement Plan for Kids proposal. Location: Salida Middle School, 520 Milford St.

 

Saturday, April 12

 
8:30 to 9:30 a.m.        Gov. Ritter will host a town hall meeting with members of the public in Canon City. Location: Pueblo Community College Fremont Campus, Learning Resource Center, 51320 W. Highway 50, Canon City.
 
10 to 11 a.m.               Gov. Ritter will meet with Department of Corrections wardens, employees and their families. Location: Colorado Corrections Training Academy, 2945 Highway 50 East,Canon City
 
11:15 a.m. to              Gov. Ritter will host a community meet-and-greet at the Fremont County WorkforceCenter.
12:15 p.m.                  Location: 3224 Independence Road, Canon City.
 
2 to 2:45 p.m.:            Gov. Ritter will tour downtown Florence, starting at the Main Street Grille, 132 W. Main St.
