GOV. RITTER TO SIGN COLLEGE TEXTBOOK, FIREFIGHTER BILLS INTO LAW TODAY

9 to 9:30 a.m.             Gov. Bill Ritter will sign two pieces of legislation into law today:
 
Senate Bill 73 (Tupa/Kefalas), which provides greater transparency around textbook pricing for college students. Gov. Ritter's oldest son, August, is a senior at Colorado State University and was one of several students who advocated in favor of the bill on behalf of the Associated Students of Colorado. August, 21, is tentatively scheduled to attend this morning's signing ceremony.
 
Senate Bill 116 (Kester/Looper), which protects volunteer firefighters who are called away from their jobs to respond to an emergency.
