GOV. RITTER TO SIGN HOMEGROWN ENERGY BILL INTO LAW AT LONGMONT FARM ON WED., MARCH 26

On Wednesday, March 26, Gov. Ritter will sign HB 1160, which would expand homegrown energy opportunities by promoting "net metering." "Net metering" allows consumers with their own sources of energy, such as wind or solar, to receive credit for the energy their system generates and puts in to the overall energy supply, reducing their utility bill. This will encourage more residential investment in renewable energy and support its use in rural communities.

Tomorrow's event will occur in two parts.  First, there will be a press conference at a Longmont farm, and then a bill signing will take place back at the Capitol.
