GOV. RITTER'S SCHEDULE FOR TODAY (THURSDAY, MARCH 19, 2009)

8:30 a.m.         Gov. Ritter will deliver remarks at the Sustainable Opportunities Summit sponsored by Connected Organizations for a Responsible Economy (CORE). Location: Colorado Convention Center, Four Seasons Ballroom, Rooms 1 & 2, 700 14th St., Denver.

 

Noon               Gov. Ritter will deliver remarks at the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce annual business awards luncheon. Location: Marriott City Center Hotel, 1801 California St., Denver.

 

2 p.m.              Gov. Ritter, State Treasurer Kennedy, Sen. Schwartz and former Speaker Romanoff will announce the first round of funding for school repairs, renovations and replacements from last year's BEST (Building Excellent Schools Today) legislation. Location: West Foyer, State Capitol.  

 

3-3:30 p.m.     Gov. Ritter will sign five bills into law. The signings are open press and will take place in the Governor's Office. They will be conducted as brief photo-ops. The bills are:

 

                        House Bill 1004 (Apuan/Boyd), PACE Organizations Employ Physicians

                        House Bill 1023 (Gagliardi & Swalm/Boyd), Blood Donations by Minors

                        House Bill 1078 (Ryden/Hodge), Foster Parent Training

                        House Bill 1090 (Rice/Williams), Deaf Interpreters Title Unauthorized Use

                                    Senate Bill 1 (Gibbs/Scanlan), Community Wildfire Protection Plans

 

                       

4:45 p.m.        Gov. Ritter will deliver remarks during the Colorado Black Women for Political Action Day at the Capitol. Location: Old Supreme Court Chambers, State Capitol.
