WEDNESDAY: GOV. RITTER TO VISIT A-BASIN, KEYSTONE & MONTROSE


 

Gov. Bill Ritter will be signing legislation into law in Denver, at the A-Basin Ski and Snowboard Area in Summit County and in Montrose on Wednesday, and delivering remarks at the annual Colorado Summit on Children, Youth and Families in Keystone.

 

Wednesday, June 3, 2009

 

7:30 a.m.         Gov. Ritter will sign Senate Bill 228 (Morse/Marostica & Court), which marks an important step forward in modernizing Colorado's state budget and untangling a knot of conflicting fiscal mandates. Location: Downtown Denver Partnership offices, 511 16th St., Suite 200.

 

Noon               Gov. Ritter will deliver remarks at the annual Colorado Summit on Children, Youth and Families. Location: Keystone Conference Center, 0633 Tennis Club Road, Columbine Ballroom.

 

1:30 p.m.        Gov. Ritter will join Sen. Dan Gibbs and Rep. Christine Scanlan to sign one of the most significant forest health bills of the last few years – House Bill 1199, the Healthy Forest/Vibrant Communities Act. Gov. Ritter also will sign Senate Bill 161, which establishes a specialized Ski Country license plate. Location: A-Basin Ski and Snowboard Area, Summit County.

           

6 p.m.              Gov. Ritter will join hundreds of wildland firefighters at the Colorado Wildland Fire & Incident Management Academy to sign three additional forest health and fire protection bills into law:

SB 013 (Gibbs/Levy), Good Samaritan Law Volunteer

SB 021     (Kopp & Gibbs/Scanlan & Levy) Incentives for Volunteer Firefighters

HB 1041 (Gibbs/Gerou), Fire Protection District Board Authority

8:30 a.m.         Gov. Ritter will join lawmakers and dozens of New Energy Economy supporters to sign three bills into law:

SB 75 (Schwartz/Marostica), Low Speed Electric Vehicles

HB 1298 (McFadyen/Mitchell), Green Truck Program

HB 1331 (Gagliardi/Boyd), Hybrid and Alt. Fuel Vehicle Income Tax Credit

9:45 a.m.         Gov. Ritter will sign House Bill 1010 (Massey & McGihon/Gibbs & Spence), which will help expand film production opportunities in Colorado. Location: Colorado Film Commission headquarters, Studio 1, 241 S. Cherokee St., Denver.

 

10:30 a.m.       Gov. Ritter will sign the following bills into law at the State Capitol:

SB 121 (White/Marostica), Taxation of Restaurant Employee Meals

SB 162 (Schwartz/Liston), Broadband Inventory

HB 1067 (Pommer/White), Instream Flow Tax Incentives

HB 1202 (Todd/Foster), Mortuary Science Registration

HB 1196 (Gerou/Boyd), Nursing Home Penalty Benefit Residents
