GOV. RITTER SCHEDULE FOR MONDAY, APRIL 14


Monday, April 14, 2008
 
8:30 a.m.                     Gov. Ritter will present a proclamation declaring April as "Donate Life Month" to encourage blood, marrow, organ and tissue donations. Location: West Steps, State Capitol.
 
11:30 a.m.                   Gov. Ritter will sign into law Senate Bill 82 (Veiga/Jahn), repealing a 75-year-old "blue law" and allowing retail outlets to sell alcohol on Sundays.
 
1 p.m.                          April is "Fair Housing Month," and Gov. Ritter and other state officials will announce several steps the state is taking to address discriminatory predatory lending practices and the mortgage credit and foreclosure crisis. The Colorado Division of Civil Rights also will present research findings made possible by a HUD grant. Location: West Foyer, State Capitol. Maps and other visuals will be available for photo purposes.
 
3 p.m.                          Gov. Ritter will sign into law SB 163 (Shaffer/Primavera), which establishes a Colorado Autism Commission that will develop a 10-year strategic plan to address the needs of people with autism. Location: West Foyer, State Capitol.
