GOV. RITTER SCHEDULE FOR MONDAY AND TUESDAY

9 to 10:30 a.m.           Two foster youth will be shadowing Gov. Ritter this morning as part of the Mile High United Way's annual "Take a Foster Youth to Work Day" program. Please contact Wil Alston to coordinate media coverage, 303.866.6323 or wil.alston@state.co.us.
 
9 to 9:30 a.m.             Gov. Ritter will host a news conference proclaiming April 21-26 "Foreclosure Prevention Awareness Week" and announcing a new $1.5 million federal grant to provide foreclosure-prevention counseling. U.S. Sen. Ken Salazar will also participate, discussing federal legislation aimed at preventing foreclosures.

10:30 to 11 a.m.         Gov. Ritter will take part in a news conference announcing the Colorado Renewable Energy Collaboratory's new solar energy research center, the Center for Revolutionary Solar Photoconversion (CRSP). Gov. Ritter will be joined by Sen. Salazar and officials from NREL, CSU, CU, Colorado School of Mines and private industry.
 
Location: West Foyer, State Capitol.
 
Noon to 12:30 p.m.    Gov. Ritter will be signing House Bills 1228 and 1280 into law.
                                   
HB 1228 was sponsored by Rep. Gwyn Green and Sen. Ken Gordon and concerns financial responsibility for unfair business practices in the sale of insurance.
 
HB 1280 was sponsored by Rep. Randy Fischer and Sen. Gail Schwartz. It protects water rights that have been leased or loaned to the Colorado Water Conservation Board for in-stream flow purposes.

9 to 9:30 a.m.             Gov. Ritter will host an Earth Day news conference, issuing three executive orders that will enact provisions of the Colorado Climate Action Plan, announcing Colorado's first 10 self-reporters to The Climate Registry, and introducing the new Insulate Colorado Program.
