2017 Alfa Romeo Giulia & Stelvio Production / Cassino Assembly Plant

In May 2016, the Cassino plant began production of the Alfa Romeo Giulia – the first of an entirely new generation of Alfa Romeos – for export to markets around the world.

Through innovations in technology, processes and culture, Cassino has been transformed into a premium plant for production of the new generation of Alfa Romeos. No detail has been overlooked in the pursuit of excellence: from the ergonomic design of workstations, to use of the most advanced manufacturing technologies, and environmental innovations that ensure zero emissions, zero waste and zero water.

Since opening in 1972, the plant has produced a total of 15 different models and more than 7 million vehicles. During that time, it has undergone a process of continuous improvement, making it a model of innovation and efficiency and establishing it early on as one of the most highly-automated automotive assembly plants in the world.

The transformation completed in 2016, however, is the most radical yet. Both plant and operating model were revolutionized, making Cassino a premium plant for production of a truly premium product.

Cassino has been denominated a World Class Sustainable Plant because of its advanced technologies and processes, which ensure the highest standards in efficiency, ergonomics and eco-sustainability.

In addition to producing a premium product, Cassino has also established itself as a premium eco-performer. With zero waste-to-landfill since 2000, the plant also has a zero carbon footprint and plans to be fully self-sufficient in terms of water usage.
