GOV. RITTER TO ANNOUNCE NEW ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR TODAY

2 p.m.              Gov. Ritter will hold a news conference to announce the new director of the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade. Location: Governor's Office, State Capitol.
 
5:30 p.m.        Gov. Ritter will take part in a news conference and launch party to kick off the new Colorado Cleantech Industry Association. CCIA will help build and advocate for this growing economic sector, which currently includes more than 300 companies with nearly 20,000 employees inColorado. Location: Governor's Residence, 8th Avenue and Logan Street. Media should enter at 8th Avenue gate.
 
Friday, July 24, 2009 – Gov. Ritter to Visit El Paso, Pueblo and Fremont Counties
           
10:30 a.m.       Gov. Ritter will tour a Colorado Springs home that is undergoing weatherization and energy-efficiency improvements thanks to the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act. The governor will help blast insulation holes into the walls of the home and discuss the importance of weatherization and energy efficiency to our economic recovery. Location: 232 N. Franklin St., Colorado Springs.
 
12:30 p.m.      Gov. Ritter will deliver remarks and take questions at the annual meeting of Action 22, an organization that represents 22 Southern Coloradocounties. Location: CSU Pueblo Campus, Occhiato Student Center Ballroom, 2200 Bonforte Blvd., Pueblo.
 
3 p.m.              Gov. Ritter will host a Town Hall meeting in Canon City. Public is invited to attend. Location: Canon City Town Hall, 128 Main St.,Canon City.
 
5:30 p.m.        Gov. Ritter will deliver opening remarks at the Urban Renewal Authority of Pueblo's 50th Anniversary Reception.
