9:30 a.m.                     Gov. Ritter will take part in a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new High Plains Raceway, Colorado's newest road racing motor-sports venue. Location: 93301 E. Highway 36, Deer Trail.

 

11:45 a.m.                   Gov. Ritter will deliver the keynote address at the Denver Estate Planning Council's Annual Luncheon, where he will discuss the 2009 legislative session and how it fits into a broader economic-development strategy. Location: Denver Country Club, 1700 E. 1st Ave.

 

2 p.m.                          Gov. Ritter will take part in a dedication and ribbon "untying" ceremony for a new solar array at the Nestle Purina Petcare factory. Location: Nestle Purina Petcare Denver Plant, 4555 York St.

 

3 p.m.                          This is National Food Allergy Awareness Week, and Gov. Ritter will be joined by state Sen. Paula Sandoval and Rep. Sara Gagliardi as he signs Senate Bill 226 into law. The measure will help schools manage the growing incidence of food allergies among young people. Location: Governor's Office.

 

7 p.m.                          Gov. Ritter will deliver remarks at the Mizel Museum's Annual Dinner, where Denver Post Publisher Dean Singleton will be honored as the recipient of the Community Cultural Enrichment Award. Location: Wings Over The Rockies Air & Space Museum, 7711 E. Academy Blvd., Denver.

9:30 a.m.                     Gov. Ritter will be joined by state Rep. Andy Kerr, Sen. Betty Boyd and other lawmakers as he signs two major New Energy Economy bills into law. House Bill 1312 will create a loan program to help schools pay for renewable energy projects and electric or hybrid buses so they can save money on utility bills and invest those savings back where they belong – in the classroom. House Bill 1126 will allow local governments to provide incentives for installation of solar thermal projects, which use solar-heated water as an energy source. Location: Foothills Elementary School, 13165 W. Ohio Ave., Lakewood.

                       

                        

 

1:45 p.m.                    Gov. Ritter will sign six election-reform and voting-related bills during two ceremonies Friday afternoon. The first bill, House Bill 1326 (T. Carroll & Court/Shaffer), Integrity of Citizen-Initiated Petitions, will be signed at 1:45 p.m.
