GOV. RITTER IN GRAND JUNCTION ON SATURDAY, PUEBLO & FOUNTAIN ON MONDAY

8:30 a.m.         Gov. Ritter will deliver the keynote commencement address to the Mesa State College Class of 2009. Location: Stoker Stadium, 12th and North Avenue, Grand Junction.

Gov. Ritter will take part in a number of events in Pueblo and Fountain, including a tribute to state Sen. Abel Tapia, a dedication for a new unit at the Colorado Mental Health Institute, a groundbreaking for a new senior-citizen care center in Pueblo and a community celebration in Fountain.

           

9 a.m.              Gov. Ritter will attend the Pueblo Human Relations Commission tribute breakfast honoring state Sen. Abel Tapia. Location: 200 W. B St., Suite 234, Pueblo.

 

10:30 a.m.       Gov. Ritter will take part in the dedication ceremony for the new Robert L. Hawkins Institute for Forensic Psychiatry at the Colorado Mental Health Institute at Pueblo. Gov. Ritter also will sign into law House Bill 1341, which was sponsored by Rep. Sal Pace and Sen. Tapia and will continue the licensing and regulation of psychiatric technicians by the state Board of Nursing until July 1, 2019. Location: Colorado Mental Health Institute, 1600 W. 24th St., Pueblo.

 

2 p.m.              Gov. Ritter will take part in a groundbreaking for the new PACE (Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly) Center. PACE serves Medicare- and Medicaid eligible clients with disabilities who are older than 55. Location: 400 Northern Ave. (former Minnequa Bank Building), Pueblo.

 

5:30 p.m.        Gov. Ritter will take part in a community celebration congratulating all those who worked on Senate Bill 141, which was sponsored by Sen. Tapia and Reps. Pace and Marsha Looper. The bill creates the Fountain Creek Watershed, Flood Control and Greenway District in El Paso and Pueblo counties. Location: Fountain City Hall, 116 S. Main St., Fountain.
