LT. GOV. O'BRIEN TO TAKE PART IN ANNUAL SPRING BUFFALO FEAST AS KICK OFF NATIVE AMERICAN CONFERENCE


 
Lt. Gov. Barbara O'Brien and Colorado Commission on Indian Affairs' (CCIA) executive secretary—Ernest House, Jr., will be taking part in two local American Indian-focused meetings in conjunction with the 14th Annual Oweesta/LEAD Institute's 2008 National Conference, which is considered Indian Country's most innovative economic development conference.  It is being held in Denver on March 17-20, 2008.
 
Lt. Gov. O'Brien and Secretary House will be participating in the Annual Spring Buffalo Feast & Honoring Ceremony, which is an annual gathering to celebrate honored American Indian individuals within the Denver-Metro community who have been advocates in a variety of areas.  It is also a community feast where traditional buffalo stew is provided to the community.  In addition, they will be taking part in CCIA's quarterly meeting, which will include jointly meeting with the Colorado Legislature's State Affairs Committee, which will mark the first ever joint meeting with a legislative committee and CCIA.
