GOV. RITTER SCHEDULE FOR TODAY (THURSDAY, MAY 1)

8 a.m.                          Gov. Ritter will present five Colorado companies with the 2008 Governor's Award for Excellence in Exporting during the annual World Trade Day Conference, "Colorado's Evolving Economy." The companies are: ASD Inc. of Boulder, Portec Flomaster of Canon City, CAP Worldwide of Denver, John Ewing Co. of LaSalle, and Rocky Mountain Orthodontics of Denver.
 
Location: Grand Hyatt Hotel, Grand Ballroom, second floor, 1750 Welton.
 
10:30 a.m.                   Gov. Ritter will present a proclamation to members of Colorado's volunteer Search and Rescue teams, declaring May as "Search and Rescue Awareness and Appreciation Month." Thousands of Coloradans volunteer on more than 50 Search and Rescue teams across the state, saving countless lives in Colorado's rugged backcountry each year.

2 p.m.                          Gov. Ritter will deliver remarks at Denver Public Schools' Dropout Prevention Summit, "Multiple Pathways to Graduation: Engaging the Community."
 
Location: Colorado Convention Center, 700 14th St., Room 302.
 
6 p.m.                          Gov. Ritter will deliver remarks during the reception preceding an annual Cinco de Mayo free concert by the Colorado Symphony Orchestra.
 
                                    Location: Boettcher Concert Hall, Denver Performing Arts Complex, 14th and Curtis streets.
 
7:30 p.m.                    Gov. Ritter will receive a lifetime achievement award for his work on behalf of Colorado children during the Rocky Mountain Children's Law Center's annual Champions for Children dinner.
