8:45 to 9 a.m. Gov. Ritter will sign two nursing- and patient-related bills at a ceremony at 8:45 a.m. Tuesday. The bills are:
Senate Bill 188 (Boyd/Pommer), which establishes a pilot program for hospitals to collaborate with direct-care nurses on patient care and professional nursing issues;
Senate Bill 196 (Boyd & Tochtrop/Pommer), which adds nursing-related quality measures to the Colorado Hospital Report Card.

Noon to 1:30 p.m. Gov. Ritter will deliver a mid-year "State of the State" speech to the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce, summarizing the accomplishments of the 2008 legislative session.
