2017 Suzuki Ignis Crash Test

The latest round of crash test results revealed by the Euro New Car Assessment Programme (NCAP) for 2016 and the upcoming Suzuki Ignis managed to score a 3-star rating for the standard equipment trim, while the variant with the optional safety pack scored full 5-stars.

The Euro NCAP's assessment for the Suzuki Ignis read, “The passenger compartment of the Ignis remained stable in the offset deformable frontal impact test. Dummy readings indicated good protection of the knees and femurs of the driver and passenger. Suzuki showed that a similar level of protection would be provided to occupants of different sizes and those sat in different positions.”

Both variants of the Suzuki Ignis for the European market come equipped with dual front airbags along with side head, chest and pelvis airbags. The standard variant comes with ISOFIX mounting points, airbag cut-off switch and seatbelt reminder. The optional safety pack equipped variant includes AEB (Autonomous Emergency Braking) for city and inter-urban transport, pedestrian safety system, lane assist system and radar-assisted braking on the highway. The Ignis also has low-speed autonomous emergency braking as part of its optional 'Dual Camera Brake Support' safety pack. The results of that system though are not part of the assessment.
