Engaged Spirituality Forum Will Highlight Gov. Bill Ritter and Rev.
Leah Daughtry, Chair of the 2008 Democratic National Convention
Committee


Denver, Colorado - The Colorado Democratic Party is sponsoring its
second annual seminar on faith-based issues at the Iliff School of
Theology from 9:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., on Saturday, January 12, 2008.
The Rev. Leah Daughtry, Chair of the 2008 Democratic National
Convention Committee will be the opening keynote
speaker.

Colorado Governor Bill Ritter will speak to the participants at lunch.
His address will follow a panel discussion on separation of church and
state.
Panelists include Rev. Ron Stief of Faith in Public Life; Taj
Ashaheed, Executive Director of the Colorado Muslim Council, and
Colorado Rep. Morgan Caroll, speaking from the Jewish perspective.

Workshops on immigration, health care, environment and war will be
held in the afternoon. Speakers include Rep. Terrance Carroll, Iliff
Professor Dr. Miguel de la Torre, Rep. Jim Riesberg, Rev. Peter
Sawtell, among others.

The event is at the Iliff School of Theology, 2201 S. University
Blvd.,Denver, CO 80201. Registration fee is $20, which includes a box
